That's what our pal "Rhulenbarb" always says when Lawman is about to do something stupid. The jury is still out on whether or not this new purchase is stupid or not. Lawman picked up a nail gun to help in his building the top bar hive he has under construction. Pictures on the progress will be forthcoming.
And on the pal front, we baked a fruitcake for one of ours. JD has been foo-fooing fruitcake on the Face Place for a while, and we fancy ourselves as fruitcake's biggest fan, so we try to change public opinion one bake at a time.
Cupcake wrapped some of the last presents this week, and Lawman baked cookies. These are our new obsession, caramel and pecan.
We had a snow event this week. We've been prepping for a snow since spring, so we were happy to see a little white stuff on the ground this week.
This may put the kibosh on our strawberry plants. They have hung in there, we picked our last couple of strawberries in November.
But a little snow didn't stop us from hanging our laundry out on the line. We called these "freeze dried" towels.
While we were snowed in (not really, we only got about three inches) we decided to stay in and have a meat lovers pizza Friday night.
Prior to the snow, we did a little Paprika Chicken, in cast iron of course.
And we did DeNephew's favorite meal, baked burritos one night.
While we were stuck inside, we went ahead and thawed out the rabbit our neighbors gifted us, and pressure cooked it in jars. Now all we have to do is drain it for ready made dinner.
We picked some fresh basil from Cupcake's herb garden to include in the jar.
Ready to go in the pressure canner.
Ready to eat.
Lawman cut the back out and we boiled one to make broth. Added some celery and bay leaves to the mix.
Now we're looking for recipes that call for rabbit broth.
We ended the week with wings.
