Difference Between Living and Living Well

This week the US celebrated Independence Day.  We celebrated Cupcake returning home from another whirlwind adventure for HCA. Lawman hates it when she goes, but he loves the lifestyle he's grown accustomed to, so....

When Cupcake was flying home from Boston, Lawman was steady watching the flight log online. He noticed the plane was going to fly right past the house, so he waited until the plane was close and stepped out on the porch. He saw the plane as it flew over, but cloud cover prevented a clear picture of the plane. Lawman needed brother Kevin's photog expertise. Best he could do was a picture of the cloud she flew over, and the exhaust trail from her plane.

She's home now, and things began to get back to normal. While she was gone, Lawman picked the first mess of beans from The Acre garden. Not enough to can, and too many for a meal, so we cut the picking in half. Gave half to Pop and we fixed the rest for dinner one night.

He picked a cucumber or two here and there. By the time Cupcake got home, there was a fridge full of them. Enough to make pickles. Sweet pickles were on the menu this time.

We're sure there will be a flood of pickles this year, the cucumber plants are rocking.
With a nickname like "Lawman" you have to already guess we 'back the blue' around The Acre? But not everyone driving by the house might know that. We remedied that problem by adding a light strip to the front porch. The front porch is 52 feet long. This light strip was 52 feet long. It seemed like destiny demanded we add this to the porch.

It changes colors, so we can show our love for the military (green) and it flashes red/white/blue, and any combination of colors we want. Probably come in handy at Christmas?
Until then, our front porch is plenty blue.
Brother Kevin along with Denise and Denephew came over this weekend to work on his racecar. They stopped over for breakfast Saturday and Sunday. Sunday we always do a big breakfast anyway, we just doubled down on the amount. Everyone seemed to have a great big time.

Sunday afternoon, "The Girl" and "The Boy-in-Law" came out for burgers and beers. We decided to break out the Blackstone and use Serendipity's hospitality to host the event.
Bacon burgers? Yes please

We fired up the outside speakers and tuned in the George Strait channel for the neighbors to listen to. And if the neighbors didn't know for sure just how redneck the event was, Lawman broke out the PBR, cowboy hat, flip flops, and The Boy sported his mullet.
As "King George" says in one of his songs, there's a difference between living, and living well. We hope everyone tuning in to this update is living their best life right along with us. Except the Ky family.
Y'all made your bed.
