Big news this week came on Sunday. Our first predicted snow storm is bearing down on us, and the Faceplace was full of panic with a sprinkle of joy from a few of us. We love snow, and we prepare for it all summer long, so lets do this thing.
Our only prep for the coming snow was bringing the snow blower from the barn over to the garage. We keep plenty of gas and chicken feed on hand at all times. The rest of the week was kind of a snooze fest. We ate leftover Christmas food most of the week because we hate to waste anything. Lawman did a little fly fishing since the temps were in the 60's all week. The crappie were up in the brush pile.
We made plans to entertain new years day, but those plans fell through. Since we already had the food and the plan, we went ahead with our tradition of steaks, oysters, collards, black eye peas and ham.
As luck would have it, we found sirloin steaks marked down because they were expiring on the 31st so we got six steaks for around five bucks.
Since we don't waste food, we cut up one of the sirloins for breakfast on Sunday, and had sirloin steak gravy over our cathead biscuits.
Then Sunday night, Cupcake whipped up some smash burgers on the Blackstone for dinner.
The "Boy-in-Law" gave us the grill light, and it's quite possibly the greatest invention every designed by man. We like it anyway.
The chirruns all slept through breakfast, so for dinner "The Boy" decided he wanted gravy for dinner. He whipped up a skillet full all by himself.
We ended the week washing dishes. Baby stepsK&K
