Moving Week

This week we moved the littles from the garage to the slanty shanty. We used the un-official chicken transport, a dog crate the twins out grew. The transport went smoothly and after one day in the coop, we opened it up so they could start exploring.

They took to the coop right away, and ventured outside. The discovery of worms and bugs is a sight to watch.

We also started noticing the tops of our tomato plants started to vanish. Tracks in the garden point to deer. So we mixed up our first batch of deer spray, using our new found hot sauce from the store in Gettysburg.

We spent the week tilling and weeding the gardens. By the end of the week we were back on top of it and had all the gardens looking tip top, and sprayed them down. The tomato plants didn't lose any further tops.
Last week we had a hootinanny at the house, and one of the desserts was a choco pie. Cupcake didn't get a slice before it was all gone, so she requested one of her very own this week. What Cupcake wants, Cupcake gets.

By the end of the week, Pop gave us the heads up that the blackheart cherry tree was starting to turn cherries, so we picked a few handfuls. We're still a few days away from them being dead ripe, but we got a good start.
While we were picking, "The Girl" stopped by for a visit, so she threw in with us to help pick. And since the boy in law is a fan of our banana nut cookies, we whipped up a quick batch for her to take home with her.

We ended the week with a couple really good naps, and chicken wings.
