New Year, Same ol Us

 The new year jumped off. Y'all may have heard about it? We don't know.

The big thing this week is Chief Walters got his perk of office. 

We had to sacrifice another shrub along the driveway to make room for a new vehicle. Backing Serendipity in next time should be a snap. But, it made room for the new truck and made room for Cupcake's lilac to spread out, so we see it as an absolute win. 

Working on last weeks generator drama, Lawman took out the toolbox and tried his hand at playing fix-it.

It went about as well as you'd expect.

We've decided it's above Lawman's pay grade and are going to seek out a small engine guy/gal.

Other than that, we pretty much just stayed out of the worlds way. We rang out the old year with a surf and turf meal that Cupcake loves, steak and fried oysters. And we heard the story about how "The Outlaw" made his oysters and almost ruined her on oysters. Our pal Rachelle is a big fan of prosecco, and the last trip we made to BJ's, there was a big display of BJ's brand prosecco, so we picked up a bottle. We're gonna stick with bourbon we think.

Then we brought in the new year the same way we always do, with collards, blackeye peas and porkchops. Cupcake found a recipe for fresh cranberry porkchops this year. They rocked.

And what we take as a good sign of the year to come, we got our first dozen of eggs on the 1st. 

We ended the week/year with a really good nap.
