This week kicked off garden season. Cupcake got half of her new strawberry plants delivered, so Big Man took the big tiller and tilled up a few rows. Our strawberry garden is now set.
And "Good Friday" was this past week, so that means potatoes. We bought a bag of blue potatoes in the fall, and cut out the small ones, then kept them in the basement where it's cool and dark. They sprouted over the winter, now they are seed potatoes.
Big Man Tilled up the the new garden, and this year he actually laid off straight rows. Normally, Big Man says the seeds are in the ground, they grow the same if the rows are straight or not. But this year, the garden will be visible from the main road, so some uniformity is in order.
Cupcake wanted a walkway down the middle of the garden, so that's what the cross lines are for.
There was also food. We eat very well around The Acre.
First, we made a pizza for dinner one night.
And we smoked a ham. We made a quick meal from it on Thor's Day, but sliced it up for Easter Dinner.
And a morning meal made the cut this week. Breakfast burritos. Big Man loves him some fresh eggs every morning, this is a little "shake things up" meal.
And on an egg related note, the chirruns made some Easter Eggs prior to the weekend.
Easter Sunday has it's own entry, stay tuned for pics from the big day.
