Mac N Cheese

We had a busy week around The Acre this week.
For starters DeNephew Henry stopped by one evening for a slice of cheesecake and to finish off a bowl of Mac N Cheese. And we're not talking about "Crazy Granny" Mac N Cheese, this had real cheese and two jalapeno peppers mixed in. We didn't know if Henry would like spicy dishes. Now we know.
Speaking of cheesecake, we made another Butterfinger cheesecake this week.
After Lawman got it finished there was some discussion that maybe if we put the Butterfingers on the crust, we could get more candy bang for our buck. So Lawman went to town to do some more tradin, and Saturday night he made another one.

Lawman's first cheesecake that didn't crack open.

Done and Done

Starting off the week, one of our neighbors stopped by to ask if he could use the pasture for a few of his cows. We were glad to finally have some cows on the place to eat down the fields.
Lawman had a few spots in the fence that needed mending. The rotten deer wrecked several spots with no juice on it.
After the fence got squared away, we turned on the juice and it was up and running. Cows showed up the next morning.
And Lawman got to play with his new toy. Pop needed a few blocks of wood for his transmission he was taking out of the truck. Table saw made quick work of the job.
Time to start on the bee hives we think.
This was the end of the month, and for Cupcake that means long nights. We didn't get to go to town Friday or Saturday, so Lawman stepped up his cooking game. Friday night he made his soon to be world famous meat lovers pizza. This time instead of chopping basil up into the crust, he just layered the bottom with fresh picked basil.

Just a little bacon

So this is happening again. We don't know why everyone wouldn't grow their own herbs.
For lunch Friday, Lawman recycled Thursday's steak with some garden onions and Habanero cheese for a steak burrito.
Then Saturday morning, Cupcake had to be on the job at 0600hrs and work all day. Lawman got up with her and made from scratch English muffins. We found the recipe on the Faceplace page belonging to 1840 Farm. Check it out here.
The only hard part was waiting for the dough to rise.
Anything you fry in cast iron is gonna be good

We will never buy English muffins again.
Sunday we got caught up on weekend doings. We cleaned the coop de ville, planted two fruit trees, picked a basket full of jalapeno peppers and made six pints of Lawman candy. Then we went to town and got all the fixings for The Girl's lunch in the coming week.

We ended the week with wings.
