We didn't have much to report on this week, but thank goodness "The Boy" was busy.
First off, he passed his EMT test so he is now a state certified EMT. He passed on his first try, it's kind of a big deal.
Second, officer voting was this past week for officers at Floyd Station #3, and Jacob was elected high chief. He has been with Station 3 since he was old enough to join, sixteen. In a short nine years he has been elected engineer, 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, Captain, and now High Chief. He's held down a full time job for his entire tenure, and still manages to run more calls than most people in the house. And proud of him, we all are.
As for us old people, there wasn't much to report on. Lawman cleaned out the coop and put another load of duck poop on the barn garden. Cupcake whipped up a couple of good meals this week.
First off, baked burritos
Then we got serious with a country dinner of Polish sausage, kraut, cornbread and fried potato pancakes. The first time we make a new recipe we follow the letter of the law, because a wise Alphageek once told us "Cooking is an art, baking is a science." Next time we make it our own. Lawman says this recipe needs more flour, or less butter. Tinkering is half the fun.
