Introducing: Mr. and Mrs. JB Walters

 As promised, our big announcement this week!

Jacob and Dallas made it official and became husband and wife this week. Now she really is "The Girl-in-Law."

The weather was calling for rain, but it held off long enough for the knot to get tied and nobody got soaked. The event was held in a working horse barn.

We are excited to see them begin the start of their lives together. Proud of them, we all are. 

We ended the week with an empty nest.

Eye, Zombie

 Lawman had a mishap this week. We'll give you a moment to digest that.....

One night, when taking the DT's on their pre-bedtime run, a gnat flew into Lawman's eye. He thought he got it out, and went on with is nightly routine. He did not get it out, apparently.

So Cupcake, as is tradition, drove him to the Med-Express to get it doctored on. 

While he was healing up, he still had to mow the cemetery and our yard, then till out the garden so as to keep on top of the weeds and whatnot.

We caught a picture of Augustus as he's about to enter the speed force.

We bought a bunch of whipping cream on the cheap a week or so ago, and we noticed that the use by date was past, so we whipped up three batches of butter and froze it.

And what's fresh butter without homemade english muffins to put it on?

We ended the week with a couple of naps, and Cupcake's soon to be world famous lasagna.

Next week we are going to have a huge announcement to make. As 45 would say..."YUUUGE"

Entertaining

 We have an annual tradition of the biker boys from the People's Republic driving down and spending a day at The Acre. This week was that week. Lawman adopted the ST look and wore his bear hat for the commemorative photograph. JBMC has yet to bow to social pressure.

The big hit each year is always carrot cake. We like to give the people what they want.

ST shared his idea of BBQ sammich makings.

Other stuff going on this week. We had to keep the garden going, now that we've got it in. Hauling water was this weeks big job.

And there is always trying to stay on top of the weeds. 

And, we have a new visitor. We've not yet lost any birds, but Lawman has someone to outsmart now. He says it's personal now.

After the boys rolled out Sunday morning, we grabbed a quick nap and then had a Mother's Day dinner with The Girl and boy-in-law.

Berry Busy

 We had a pretty busy week this week. Come the weekend, we were invited to a celebration for a young lady who just got her doctorate. We hobnobbed for a couple of hours, it was nice to get out. We don't get out much. 

Cupcake got her first strawberry from our planter out back.

A second baby chick hatched, so we have two now.

We've been waiting to get the rest of the garden in, and we caught a break in rain and mowing. We got both gardens planted, with beans making up most of the garden at the house.

The barn garden we got our tomatoes in. Only 200 or so plants this year, we tried to scale back a little.

Besides tomatoes, we got in our jalapeno peppers, egg plant and some asparagus that we started a couple of months ago. 

We ended the week with a long nap and some ibuprofen.
